Yeah, I dont understand why you would want 450r plastics anyways. Its def not a 450r.

The newer 400 plastics is the same headlight as the 04-05 450rs.

Well the 450R plastics are a bit different than the 05 to 07 plastics. 2 major reasons is that the radiator scoops that the 450R has and the fact that the front fenders are removable on the 450R.

For thoughs 2 reasons it would be cool to have them on a 400.

and trust me they look ba on a 400ex!!! not to mention if you do back and front you can make it so just the seat comes off instead of the back fenders like on the 400

IMO

There isn't enough difference in the 450R and the 05-07 400EX plastic to mess with converting to the 450R. The 450R plastics are different from the 05-07 400EX plastics.

The kit you were thinking of on ebay I think Yamaha of Troy had that listed. However, it was like $450 and I don't believe that included the headlight. You can probably do your own conversion a lot cheaper than that. Just get some plastics, headlight, and fender brackets from someone who is parting one out. I guess that would depend on how picky you are about new or used parts.

Sorry to jack your thread but I don't have reverse on my 05 400ex so would the 450r front fenders fit mine?

That sucks. Just don't want that biga** hole where reverse used to be.

if you don't have reverse then it's not a true 2005, cause 2005 is the first year for reverse

I know. Bought the 05 nonrunning and got the engine tore down and it was COMPLETELY F***D. So I found an 02 400ex that is rough but it had a good bottom end so I just finished building it. Engine isn't even in yet. Gonna part the 02 later.

New style grows on ya plus the old style front fenders with the parachutes are kinda dated.

Never understood what everyone's facination is with wanting newer plastic. Exactly what does it do for your quad?

I care about 3 things in an ATV. Power, handling and braking.

Plastic doesn't help with any of that. Wow, you look prettier, do you want a cookie? lol
