Any one out there have any pictures of their batteries relocated under their seats on the 450er? Been thinking about doing it. I thought I seen a company with a aluminum airbox with a spot to put the battery inside. But I am just wanting to see how you did it. I have a nice battery holder that i got off a ATC 250sx that will fit my gsxr 600 battery perfectly or i have some aluminum sheeet I might make it out of. I was gonna cut out the rear fender section that holds my manual and tool box and mount it to my subframe. So show me what you did and if you can explain what you did and what you used.

A battery will fit nice under the hood, on the cross-frame between the shock mounts. In fact, there's enough room for two batteries. I've got all my wiring under my hood. It really cleans up the subframe.

I never even though about putting it uder the hood. Thats just as easy access as under the seat. Cat you post some pictures of it?

I'm in the process of getting it put back together after powdercoating the frame. But, I will when I have it all together. I had to relocate the CDI bracket, but that wasn't any trouble.

Wow thanks for the pictures Quadforce and Scro.
Quadforce very nice and clean. I would have cut the whole manual holder out of my fenders but your pictures just showed me that you dont need to to make it fit. It keeps it still hidden and I like that. A+ on your fabricating. Really quality work!

Scro you also made me realize you can do just about anything with your battery. Awesome job. I bet you could figure out on how to hook up a solar panel on your quad and make it work:D
Thanks both of you guys it really helped me out. I will be trying to get to it within the week to and I will post my progress.

I've also seen them mounted between the a-arms, right in front of the motor. The box was powdered black, it looked real nice. It also helps in keeping the center of gravity lower. I was going for more of a looks thing, and wanted to keep them out of view.

I have seen the batteries down on the fram in front of the motor on the kfx450ies and I didnt care for that. I like it when they are out of sight but still easy to access. How did you mount the battery box to the front cross brace under your hood?

i am in the midst of rebuilding from the ground up my 06 450er.. i just ordered and reveived recently an Aluminum Airbox with battery relocation kit from these guys: http://www.insaneperformanceatv.com/450r.html
the price was right, product is really nice. came with lid, hardware, battery mount, solenoid bracket, and the necessary extension wires, pretty detailed instructions... it's getting polished now, and am waiting till my frame is done to start the install... ill post pics when done! i am hoping it looks as good as the 400ex aluminum airboxes..

There was a company that did electric starter kits for04-05 450r and they advertised in Dirtwheels and they put the battery behind the airbox. I presume you cut out the manual and tools holder on the rear fenders.
