power valve ?

Ok i am still new to the 2 stroke scean I was wandering whats the power valve hows it work and in what situation would you use it in i think its called a power valve its that dome shaped thing on the top front part of the cylinder is what im talking about

Below is a picture of my powervalve cylinder. The powervalve unit is the black piece sticking out of the front of the cylinder, and actuates a part the reaches down inside (not visible).

Powervalves take many forms, but typically they are inside the cylinder and on the front, not top.

You use a powervalve cylinder when you're looking for a motor with a wider spread of power.

thanks man i like your top end you got there its really nice so should i invest in a cylender with a power valve what kinda application would i use it for

from what i've read about you and bein new to the R's and stuff... i would run the quad as is for now... when you have a year or a half a year on it then start puttin money in to it... to get a fully built motor with a PV(powervalve) on it you will spend about 5K and just teh top end alone new is anout 2K on the low end... things add up fast... people get well over 20 grand stuck in to quads and they never ever get it back...

i know its hard when you see totally pimped quads... i was the same way... but now even thought im to the top of what you can do... for some odd reason i still look for more like as if my chassis and shocks arnt enought....


from what i've seen with your quad its ready to hit the trails...

i know what ya mean my truck is the same way i got a dodge diesel and it seems like theres never enough and i just want my quad to be as pimped out as evvery one eleses theun to havere just so un to ride and mess around withjust so many options

yeah i know its crazy.... the sky is the limit when it comes to toys... as long as you got a bill to filp you can get something for it...

its a 98 24v its got billit every thing trans turbo back 5inch exhust into 5inch stacks im runnin 100hp injectors with a quadzilla programer stacked ontop of a hypertec programer. I will get pics brb i gotta get onto my other computer

sweet! you ever look in to a propain set up? theres a guy on youtube that had a 7.3 and i bet you he spent under 2 grand and is push just under 700HP with a larger exhuast, a sct tuner, propain, some boost thing(it mounts on the waste gate) and a cold air intake.... and the STC has a 70? 90 and a 110HP and hes running hte 90 and hes gettin about 24 mpg...
