View Full Version : can you let nitrogen out of the shock to lower it?

i am drag racing, and i want to lower the front of my 450r like a inch and a half, or two inches, can i let out some of the nitrogen in them to lower it?

do you already have the shocks spun up, the dual nuts on the top of the spring? what is your ride height right now? for affective weight transfer you want the front higher than the rear..

No, that won't change the ride height. That will make the front end feel very spongy. If you have the ride height nuts all the way to the top, you would have to move the mounting point of the front shocks out on the arm to get a lower stance for drag racing.

yeah i might have to make some mounts to lower it then, because they are as low as i can get them.

i would but im sorta afraid the frame might drag a little too easy being i have scooter tires for front wheels, but i need to borrow a set off somebody to find out...
