I was going through the trails on my property that i ride everyday and i hit a tree head on in third gear:grr: And all that caused it was my front brakes went out as i was going into the turn. I slid off the trail and hit a tree off the side of the trail.

It ripped my bumber off, bent my lower right a-arm, and i've found a few spots on my frame at the a-arm mounts where the paint is krinkled and flaking. What should i do guys? should i try to have the frame straightened?

i told him if he got them sometime soon just use it as my birthday and christmas funds. I'll post pictures of the actual damage tomorrow but here's an idea of what its like.

The green is what visibly bent. The arm has a slight ben in it, just enough to make it handle funny. On the frame the angled tube is slightly back bent at the weld, and the bumper mount is bent back

Frames are cheap, I picked one up for 100$ last year. Automotive repare shops may be able to do it but I wouldn't even bother.

I have always hated 400ex front brakes, there spongey even with steel braided lines. One of the best mods I did was to switch to a yfz master cylinder. It made a huge difference and I actualy have front brakes now, they are almost as good as a 450r.

Wow that sucks, but at least you did not get hurt. I would say without seeing the damaged areas it will be hard to answer your question, but I would think it could be straightened. I decent body shop should be able to do it for you and you would not have to tear the whole bike down as you would in a frame replacement. I know there is a guy on eBay that sells frames with clean titles in a worse case scenario. As for your a-arms, I am sure you can pick up some decent used ones pretty cheap. Do you know why your brake gave out? I would want to address that problem first before going to much further.
Good luck with your repairs. And get some pics up when you can.

The frame is barely bent, you gotta look HARD to tell that it's bent. The a-arm has a slight bow to it and it causes it to handle funny. I'm not gonna worry about the frame, i'm just worrying about A-arms. I'm gettin a new master cylinder for sure, and later on, i'm gonna do the 450R spindle/brake conversion.

Get your chainsaw out and cut the tree down.

thats what it looks like man. lmao

well here's the pics guys

You can see the imprint of my a-arm
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk34/crg10493/100_1273.jpg

It flaked the paint off at the weld, so it bent it in a way
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk34/crg10493/100_1277.jpg

Then right behind the a-arm mount the paint is krinkled, you gotta look close.

Compare my lower arm to my upper and you'll see that it has a bow in it.

Surprisingly i didn't come off the quad. I saw what was gonna happen and braced up for it. My shoulders, elbows, and wrists are kinda sore. It surprised me that it didn't really mess something up

He might have been moving right along looking at that tree,

Probably got a good view of all that POISON IVY that he was going to land in and put the death grip on those handlebars.

we were riding at phillips wi a few years ago and i hit a huge rock with the right rear tire in a turn. i think i was in 3rd gear in the powerband on my banshee. i totally went rag dollin in to the bushes. i wish that i had a helmet cam it was funny. and nothing happened but a bent rim.

I was riding with powermadd last month at prentence and ran off the main road in fourth gear. I was trying to keep up with him through the turns and we came up on a sharp hairpin to the left and my front end just plowed straight and i ran through the ditch and up the bank. lol Somehow i managed to ride it back out into the trail without wrecking
