Not every shot makes the cut, and even though these are junk, thought I would share a few from the trip

The cubs were a riot to watch. I literally could have spent days just watching them play. I wish they had been in better light

Even a 100 pound bear can make you hurt:p The eye balling i got on a few occasions made me back up a few feet

Watching the bigger bears rip into a stump was humbling. One swipe and they would shred the wood and get to the bugs in it

The one sow with the 3 cubs was a well mannered bear. I never approached them, I let her approach me. the cubs at times were mere feet away and I backed off the first chance I got

My wife was all but having a fit when the big sow came straight towards me. I would have stayed put if the light had been good and the brush not so thick for better shots, but I backed off and kept a few feet between us :p

I will use a shorter lens next time out, I missed several good oppertunities because the bears were to close to focus on

Oh well, I will apply what I learned on the next trip:p

This was the closest shot. My lens will not focus closer then 6 feet. I knew the shot would be crap but snapped it anyway.

Ken you're crazy to get that close to a bear , especially with it's cubs around. You wouldn't catch em that close ... seen and ehard of way too many incidents where the sow goes nuts when you get too close to her cubs. Ya can't outrun a bear , I'll put all my money on that one.

The animals are so accustomed to people in Cades Cove, you can damn near feed the deer out of your hand. It's an awesome place.

that they are except the bugs kept pestering the deer. The bigger buck i got shots of was covered in them and he would run around then stiop and feed trying to ditch them

the bears are well mannered, but the park folks said stay away from the mommas which i tried to do for the most part haha. i garuntee i could have fed the bears

this is a breathtaking photo of the cove. come back and see it in the fall when the leaves change.

I'll take some pics around English mountain this fall as well and post them.
