Are 04&05 swingarm skids the same as 06+ swingarm skids. I imagine there different because the swingarms are different.

No, the mount holes for the 04-05 are situated horzontaly. On the 06 and up they are verticle. Hence you cannot use an 04-05 swing arm skid plate on the 06 model.
