ok im new to the 250r scean i have been reading and i here alot about the frams i have an 1986 r the fram looks good to go but whats all the talk about cracking and weak points is it somthing i should worry about somthing that could cause a bad crash and how can i fix it weres the main problems at on the frame. I dont do much jumping and if i do it is small stuff just mainly alot of trail riding

I also am on a stricked low budget wats a good set of a-arms preferably that will give me a little extra width to my front not much maybe a inch or so and shocks to go with that what other up grades that are cheap.

You can find the answers to all your questions and answers to questions you didn't know you had yet by using the "search" function at the top of the page.

sometimes its hard to know 'what' to search for when your new to something.

there are gusset patterns available if you really want to. and do search for some extra info regarding frame differences and weak spots. ive also got an 86 with a stock frame and while i pretty much destroyed the stock swingarm, the frame is still straight and crack free.

you really don't need to widen it for the trails. get some shocks if you want to go faster in the woods. 400ex spindles is also a good upgrade.

450R spindles are an easier conversion i think.

i wouldnt worry about making the front wider on a budget, get good shocks and if you want a little bit more width get an adgustable axle out back and set it to about +1 or +2.

i would always go with a lonestar, and for shocks works is a good economical choice.

If you want to go cheaper on the shocks for now, you can pick up a set of used 450 shocks and make them work as well.
