I think you would be happy either way.

Have you ever ridden a dirt bike?

If so, which do you like more? ATV's or Dirtbikes?
^ I would base my own decision around that question.

Ive always had a blast on dirtbikes, but for the type of riding I do.... It just wouldn't cut it. I HATE getting my front wheel getting caught in a rut on a dirtbike... not fun.

Either way, I think you will be pleased.

EDIT: DAMN thats a hot four-hundy

that is one weird exhaust man, i would think with a 440 that you would need better flow through the heads and i would have gone with a big freekin pipe, like a hmf or sparks, but yeah it all depends on how much you like riding either, i feel like when im on my 400 i can go wherever i want to go, and when i ride my buddies bike im allways wondering if i can make it, but im usally riding in the woods or at the dunes on the bike, im sure the track is where i would feel best on a bike, but i love the 450 bikes, they are deffinetly heart pounders, the acceleration is sick, assuming that you can get the back tire to hook up

Yea depend on what riding you do? If you like going to the track take the 450 cause there so fast, torquey, etc but if all u do is trail ride i think a quad would be more comfortable. Either would be good though.

well this is the deal i ownd a cr250 2 stroke and loved the power and im comfertible on both atv/dirt bike so its not that is i have ownd my 440 for 2 and a half years and i love it but i rode a yzf450 dirt bike at the pit where i ride (some guy was just there and asked if i wanted to ride his sikk dirt bike so i did) and loved it right away i thought this is wat i should be riding i was only on it for like 10 min and my arms were sore it was intense.....and ever sence then i have really wanted a 450?? so from there here we are

i thinki would go with the 450, it has a higher resale value than the 400 and its newer, they are sick bikes and if you modd them then they will eat up anything, i was debating on selling my 400 for a bike but im too lazy and i just got mine exactly the way i want it soo yeah, but in your case i think i would take the bike

I'm one of the guys who likes both too.

I rode on me EX with a guy who has a CR250R today. I sort of miss those days in some ways.

There are pluses and minuses to both.

Bikes are certainly the way to go for more aggressive riding, hitting tracks, etc...

The larger tire diameter, lighter weight, better suspension and "non" detuned engines make a difference for that. Most of the companies just put so much more focus and so much more into the MX bikes.
