key doesnt work

so i can take the key out of my 450 and still start it up and go wherever, only difference is that if the key isnt turned on, the fan wont work

i want to make it where key has to be on to start

the black/white wire from ignition has been cut and my tether wire spliced to that black/white wire

so im guessing the way my tether is wired is causing this

anyone tell me how to wire tether so that my key has to be on for bike to run

or should i just say srew it and get rid of key

Your fan will not run without the key, unless it's hard wired in to run constantly.

well what if i connect one tether wire to black/white wire then connect other tether wire to green wire, and then connect the red wire to black wire

this should make my tether work

and connecting the black wire to red wire would simulate the key being on all the time

....right??

or am i just really confused.lol

and also i would be ok with fan running 24/7
