I'm looking at buying one hopefully within the next month and have been looking at different options and styles. I DON'T want a 5th wheel .... but do want something with slide outs .

So far I'm pretty interested in the K-Z Sportsmen series ... 28 footer.... it has a queen bed at the front , bunks at the back , spacious with the slide out and not overly huge. Plus I liek the front styling which is more aerodynamic and it has a rock guard along the front.

I'll be pulling it with my 07 Tundra with the 5.7 and towing package so I shouldn't have any problems especially once I get a weight distribution hitch and sway bars and break controller.

So what do you guys have ? Looking for opinions on different trailers that people own before I make any decisions.

I am in the same position as you. I have a Tundra 5.7 and don't want a fifth wheel. I have looked at Thor Superlite and a few others. I also would love advise from previous owners. Thanks

we just got a new keystone laredo 29BHS a few weeks ago. its the super light series, so its 6300 lbs unloaded, has a large slide, bunks in the back, queen in the front.. do NOT get anything by Forest River. they have the crappiest customer service, attitudes, and products. as far as reliability, look for heartlands, keystones, or jaycos, and theres a few others that are slipping my mind right now.

ps- i'm sure that you know already, but for anything that size, you absolutely need the weight distribution bars, and some sort of sway control. we switched to the newer dual cam sway control once we get this new trailer.. seems to work great.

i forgot to add another thing. if you're looking at a trailer that size, i would seriously consider getting a lightweight series. you'll be pushing the limits of any half ton with a regular 28-30 footer. we still get 10-11 mpg with this new trailer.. 12 with our 2003 27 ft Surveyor SV261T that we traded in.

we were just looking at trailers today. I think we might get this fuzion one. They only make one thats not a goose neck type thing and it was the nicest one there. But it cost 45,000 and weighs 8200. idk if your looking for a toy hauler or not but you should check it out. http://keystone-fuzion.com/index.php
