I have a T-maxx and an rc-10. I dont use them too much anymore but they are a blast to mess with. I drive the tmaxx a ton more than the rc but it runs better and such. the rc 10 needs a bit of work to fix the lever for the carb so it moves better and it would be better. the throttle sticks on it so you have to hit the brakes to get it to quit revving. but anyway the tmaxx sure is a blast. I have to change the glow plug in it right now otherwise it is good to go. I drove it about a month ago and while driving it burned out the plug so it has sat since. steve

I have an rc10gt the orginal pan style. Last summer I put a little O.S. .15 on it. Was the first time I used it in about 6-8 years and that damn thing rips. My original .12 started right up after sitting that long and really the only thing I had to do is change the oil in the shocks. I would like to get an RC8T or RC8 or the Losi equivilants but there so expensive and with the quad projects I have going there out of the budget. I heard they were really hard to drive also. Here are some pics of my GT from last summer after I redid it.

Got a 5B and a fully FLMed out Emaxx with 8th scale diffs and8 inch tires. I wont run those little nitros as they are to finicky. I love the 5B I run it on coleman fuel and it halls balls. The Emaxx is great to as I have the 8th scale novak on it and a 4 cell lipo. It will do a back flip from a stand still.

Oh lets see...

Used to have a Revo 3.3. I modded it and put a Mach 427 BB engine in it from an Lst2... Wayne co. sheriff clocked it doing 55, and that was with a broken cog in the 2nd gear tooth... I'll try to get an exact list of mods later if anyone cares :D

Right now, I have a Slash with a 15 turn motor and a couple of Sanyo 2000mah NiCad packs, and a Goldberg Skylark 56 with an O.S. .46AX and an Airtronics 6ch radio. I also have a Hobbico Superstar EP on order that I'll be converting to brushless/LiPo.

I used to have the original rc10 pan style but had a copper chassis then I bought a yokomo yz10 that I could never get to run right even after all the money.

that lipo is some serious stuff. I am worried about running it. but i hear it pretty safe now. How hard is it to fly them planes?

LiPos aren't too dangerous in a plane, assuming you don't crash and damage the cells. The main danger with LiPo packs is heat. If you charge or dicharge the pack too fast and heat it up, it can catch on fire. The newer balancing chargers out there take care of the charging part. The key is to run a motor and gearing (or prop) combo that doesn't draw more amps than the pack can handle. Packs are typically rated with a current draw capacity so you can pick a pack that will handle what you want to throw at it (e.g. 20C, 25C, 30C). Despite the drawbacks, you can't beat the power to weight ratio and the capacity.

Planes are easy to fly. Helicopters, on the other hand, have made me look like an idiot on more than one occasion. If you're interested in trying your hand at flying, buy a cheap simulator for your computer on eBay. That really helps get the basics down, and it's a lot cheaper than turning $300 worth of balsa into toothpicks.

i have 2 18/th scale, one is an associated rc 18r the kameno edition, and the other is a pro pulse 18 truck style, both have about 300 or so in each, the truck was fun to drive and was fast, but the 18r would do 45-50 depending on gearing, and neither were brush-less

my brother got a lil copter but he said that **** is so damn hard to fly he traded it for a brushless boat. I may take my hand in it after i finish with these other project. about to take the os 15 off the gt and put this orion 15 on it.

I had a CV-RX .18 in my old T-Maxx 2.5 and that was a crazy little engine. The Duratrax Nitro Evader ST has a generic variant of that engine, and it will wheelie on demand. You can probably find a CV-RX for cheap if you're looking for a ton of power in a reliable, tuneable engine.

What's wrong with the CV-X? Is it just low on compression? My buddy bought a used .15 CV-X and we threw a Duratrax replacement piston and sleeve in it and it ran great. The Duratrax ABC piston and sleeve set was only $15 from Tower. Now they're up to $25, but still cheap for a rebuild.
