pretty sure most big bore crf 50 pipes will bolt right up. Make sure it is big bore though because of extra cc's. Coolster frame is a pit bike frame that uses same motor design as most four stroke minis use.

Any XR, CRF, YX, Lifan, Jailing, OGM, motors will work. The KLX pipes will work with an adapter as well. I just purchased an exhaust designed for a KLX motor and it mounts up. I'd also say look into getting an exhaust with the adustable bracket on the silencer rather than a welded one. This will make mounting it ALOT easier.

I wanted to resurrect this old exhaust thread because it's time to put a system on my daughter's Typhoon 90.
If I get what you're saying, then any CFR50 pipe will work. I did some cruising on ebay and found 3 I liked. Take a look and tell me is they'll work.
Thanks,
Chris

I like the looks of the Leo Vince best, mostly because of the strap on the can. From the looks, will this pipe work when I go from 90cc to 117cc engine with more power?

YES! All of those systems will work. I myself like all those as well as the Yoshi.

Alright, I got the Leo Vince in and installed and wow what a difference it made. I upgraded the carb at the same time to a stock carb off a Yamaha Breeze. It is a Mikuni that Mikuni calls an 18mm carb so I don't know a correct comparison between the two carbs, but the Breeze carb is a good bit bigger. I don't know about jetting just yet, but my daughter took it around the yard and said it was much faster. I sounds much better too. I don't have any pics right now, if anyone is interested then I can take some and post'em up.
Thanks again Rob.

No problem... what size motor are you running?

It's a stock Typhoon 90 engine except for the aforementioned mods and an oil cooler. I will, over the course of the next 6 months, upgrade to a Lifan or something and build a real race engine. My daughter is only 7, but is beginning to need a faster quad to keep winning.
I am still surprised at the difference the carb and exhaust make, it looked huge. Now I need to do something to the rear brakes. They seem to loose prime all the time. Do you know of another rear master cylinder that will replace the Typhoon one? I replaced the front one already and it is much better up front.

10-4, PM me with what you're thinking about going with in terms of cc's and what kind of power you're looking to gain. I'll PM you back with the applications and the price range you'll be in. If you want portwork, intake work, a smoother shifting tranny, High Comp pistons, stroker cranks, etc... Not only do I have the resources to get the parts but I can also build you what you want. It doesn't take much to make these lil bikes scream. All you need is the right setup

I wanted to follow-up with a short race report with the new carb and exhaust. I wish it could be a good report, but the ugly crankshaft demon reared it head. We all race XC, but for this round the kids would race a mile-long MX track. My girl was enjoying the new power during practice on Saturday morning before her race when roaring up a big hill pinned in first gear the whole thing went clunk and stopped. When I got her down the hill and took a good look over, it threw the chain and kicked a bearing out of the carrier and locked the engine up tight, won't budge. I pulled the plug and it looked like something had grazed the spark plug, but didn't close the gap on the electrode. Actually I'm only assuming it's the crank, I had three more races to get through this weekend so we just loaded the Typhoon on the trailer. I haven't had time to take it out and take it apart yet, but knowing the history of these engines and their weak cranks, I'm guessing that's it.
Oh well, now I have an excuse to build the engine up for her. Now if I can only get her to change gears in a timely manner we'll be good.

When any of our cranks broke, the motor did not lock up. they acted more like the transmission was bad, they would run, rev up, but would not move.
If you decide to fix your motor, I have a crank with only two motos on it, roughly ten minutes, and i have a couple of bottom ends laying around also.

Ok, thanks, that's news to me, good to know. I just figured crank. It locked up, won't even roll when you pull it, just slides the rear tires, even with me sitting on it. I'll get it apart this week or next and get back with you when I figure out what I'm gonna do.

Our's locked the back tires when it gave out. Would move when shift into neutral though. Wouldn't run because it broke on the flywheel side. Yours may have done the same.
