I tried a search but oil isnt a big enough word, has to be atleast 4 letters. What weight oil does an 04 450r call for. I cant find my shop/ or owners manuals right now.

On the engine side - 10w40. Same on the tranny side according to the book but there can be NO additives. It will make your clutch slip. Use sae 80 gear saver for tranny.

Yeah. In the book there is a chart for what oils you should run depending on the outside temp. 10w40 has the widest range at 10 degrees f to over 100 degrees f. 10w30 works for 10 degrees f to 90 degrees f. If you are on average hotter than 90 degrees you might want to pay the 5 bucks for a quart of 10w40 to be on the safe side.
