I've got what I believe is an aftermarket bearing carrier. It's anodized red. It only has one bearing on each side. When I took it apart, there was nothing pressing the bearings tight. The sleeve with the lock nuts was just pushing on the brake hub, so the brake hub, caliper bracket, and carrier were rubbing against each other, but the bearings were loose.

I fabricated a spacer that tightens up against the side of the bearing so I can get the axle tight and nothing rubs.

What does the stock setup look like?

Do the aftermarket setups need some kind of spacer?

?, i've always just had to snug up my axle nut, never needed a spacer...thats what puts the pressure on the bearings.

if its coming loose you should look into a new lock nut. ive never had one apart but from dealing with lock nuts in the past the threads will often times wear out just a little and its enough to let them back out with vibrations.

Let me re-phrase.
What is actually tightening to the bearing? The threaded sleeve buts up against the brake hub, right? What goes from the brake hub to the bearing? Whatever it is, I don't have it.

sorry, let me re-phrase also, lol, the nut just pulls everything together, i cant see the carrier getting worn out to the point tht the bearings are all sloppy in there tho, and you can just take the bearings out by hand correct? dont need to be tapped in or out?

Ok, here's how everything works. In the first pic is everything laid out. The lip on the brake hub is what tightens against the bearings.

This is what everything looks like when installed in the carrier. When you tighten the locknut down, it pushes the lip on the brake hub through the seal and tightens against the bearings.

To make sure everything is tightened correctly, you tighen the locknut up until the bearings start to bind up, then you back the nut off about a quarter turn and lock the nut down with the jam nut.

That's the picture I needed. My brake hub does not have the extension that goes through the seal and kits the bearing. Now, to find the parts.

tht part is not a separate part, its part of the hub, kinda weird how tht would break off.....
