525 vs. 700

ok i know this is in the wrong place but i want to hear both sides of the argument. Which bike is faster the 2009 Polaris outlaw 525 irs or the 2009 Yamaha raptor 700? I am looking to get a new bike and i do alot of trail riding and racing against my friends and stuff like that. Which do you think is better?

they are both great bikes ..and quick....for a lot of trail riding the raptor ..i know i love my 416ex but of the 525 and 700 the raptor is a caddy on rough trails...and as far as drag i have raced both --the 525 was a little quicker off the line than the raptor mainly because the raptor front end would not go down , but after 3rd the raptor pulled the 525 .....i can't say to much bout my 416 but off the line i got holeshot every time and lead til bout mid 4th than they said bye bye to me :( .......i can hold my on in trails and short drags but damn that raptor will run bout 85

id go with the outlaw becuase if your riding trails youll love irs. my friend has a outlaw irs and he said its the best and i rode it and its amazing, also the 525ktm motor is very strong and dirtwheels did a thing on them and it said the raptor 700 was gps'ed at 74 and the outlaw was higher then tat the outlaw is the perfect trail machine and it has gre3at power

IRS is gay on a sport quad. It might be better in the trails but that's about it. It couldn't keep up in the dunes or the track.

like he said he would be trail riding and just racing friends so the IRS would be perfect for him and dont ever get the 700xx its a sport quad over 500 pounds and actually theres a 525 at the track i race at and he doesnt exceptionally well

i have both the IRS and the 525S and a friend i been riding with my life has the 700 in the trails the IRS is great it rides the a dream but dont kick out on the track much not as easy as the S but the 700 cant keep up with eaither 525

I ride 08 525IRS, my brother inlaw rides the 700 raptor, both stock. There is only two area's that the raptor is a better wheeler then the 525. We both feel that the raptor will be a more dependable wheeler and it slides around better, which makes it alittle better in the dunes. So if your looking for dependability go with the raptor and if your wanting speed, like hole shots, drag races, top speed and hill climbing, rough stuff then look at the 525. The othere plus of the raptor over the 525 is there is way more aftermarket parts for the raptors.
