Stock shocks from other qauds

which of these would work best on the z?

450r/400ex/kfx450/ltr450/yfz450

450r will probably work the best for stock. 400EX will probably be worse then what you have now. I have heard that the KFX450 will fit with a little grinding. LTR will fit but would probably be a little stiff on stock a-arms, if you put +2 arms on they would probably be perfect. I dont know about the yfz. Any of these can be rebuilt and setup for you. What year of z do you have. If its 05+ you can get them rebuild for you.

Yeah i didnt wanna spend like 1000+ on new shocks... i was thinking of getting like 450r shocks and rebuilding them

i put 450r shocks on my dvx dropped the front ride height a little works great and a cheap upgrade if u can find a nice set used

They don't line straight up. You have to bend the upper mounting tabs out and add bushings to make it snug. 2006 and 2007 shocks were stiff off the LTR but in 2008 suzuki changed the shocks and made them much softer. Your best bet is to find 08's if you have stock arms. If you can find a set of 08's that is. LTR shocks are basically a dual rate shock , and if you compare the LTR and 450r the LTR shocks are much larger. Im on my same search as you are to upgrade shocks, and I'm going for the 08 LTR shocks.

My dad has kfx450 on his 400 and it rides great. He had 450r shocks on it before that and was not pleased at all. I say def. go with the kfx450 shocks. Much better ride.

i dont have the yfzs anymore i ended up gettin ltr stock revalved them the best $10 i ever spent also helps my older bro rebuilds shocks too :rolleyes: my shocks get rebuilt during race season both my practice and race shocks about every 4 to 5 races so theyre always at top notch
