Looking for a starter atv for my daughter. Looking at a 2006 Polaris Predator 50. The 2 stroke one. Is this machine any good? Other options are a 2004 KFX 50 or a 2004 Suzuki Lt 50. Need a cvt trans and electric start preferably. Any opinions on a good machine? Thanks!!

The DRR is the most popular. You can upgrade it easily to a 70cc when the time is right. Is it for motocross? You would be highly disappointed with the LT or KFX for motocross. Now, TT, they are good to go. JMO.

drr is the same price, wider so it is more stable and as someone mentioned if your plan is to go faster you can add a 70 cylinder when the time is right for the rider, they make a great yard/trail quad for the kids to learn on regardless of racing

The Polaris Predator is a fine choice and it to can be put to a 70 with just a top end. The difference is the dual arms and if your not motocrossing making high jumps I recommend the Polaris Predator stating its not at a highly price. This is just my opinion If your going to get into racing then I would say buy a DRR but for your home riding Polaris.

DRR or Apex for racing for shure, out of the 3 quads listed the Polaris wold be the best choice,at our local track we have kids racing all 3 and the Kawi and Suzuki are struggling to pull the rider up even the smallest upphill the Polaris seams to have about twice the power.

If your buying new, DRR hands down. No others are even close reguardless if you are racing or not. It is the same price, if not cheaper than the others, and you get twice the machine.
The field is wide open on used. Nothing wrong with the Polaris's, we have one of those too and it has been a reliable machine.
I can't comment on the KFX or LT 50 but we also have an LT80 that has been around for years and is always a hit for the adults or the kids friends, it never disappoints.

DRR is loud for home riding , we have 4 drrs all for racing only, around the house poloris is the best i think, but racing
DRR without any question

If your gonna ride around the yard and not race, then get the Polaris.

Thanks for the replys. She would just be tooling around a large field at some land my family owns. No racing at this point. I just want a quad that has a little potential when she wants to go faster. I understand the newer 50cc 4 stroke machines only do like 15mph? The 2 stroke seems to be the way to go.

my son had a poloris 50 and he actually raced it a couple times be for he got his DRR and he did ok on it, his poloris 50 was pretty fast, not as fast as DRR at all but fast enough for him when he was 4.

my son raced a Bombardier DS50 2 stroke last year and it was bulletproof. about 99% the same as the Polaris, just different plastic. They are great learning quads, let her ride that until she is ready for more, you will be able to tell when she needs more machine. We are bummed that we sold the old Bomber, it was a great quad, that served as a pit bike, and was lots of entertainment when dad and some of his buddies had a few beers and rode wheelies on it all night long:blah: :blah:

What age do you guys think a Predator 50 will work up to? At what point do you start looking at a 90cc? They say 90cc is for 12 and older but thats seems far fetched. My daughter is 5 1/2 now. I just want the machine to last a few years.

my son got an outlaw 90 when he was 7. We jst turned down the throttle limit screw.
We went with the Polaris because it was the only one I could find around where I live that was fully auto (cvt), had forward, nuetral, reverse, and electric start. So far this has been a great atv for him and he should be able to ride for a few more years. Good luck.
