Hello.......from god's country!

Man it sure is hot down here in Tenneessee, but i'm loving a few days off before the Muddy Creek National!

We left about 1 am and drove straight through. Arrived in Gatlinburg in time for breakfest. Spent most of the day scouting for deer and bear....will post a few shots shortly

Pappy trust me, if you really want a good view of nature it will be worth your time to drive 30 min to Cherokee NC, We got to see wild bears in nature only 20ft from the car. We go there everytime we travel to gatlinburg. They have a place where you walk down an ole Indian trail. last time I saw a deer drinking in a creek and also found a Rattle snake in the middle of the trail. it was awesome! also visit wonderworks unless you get dizzy easily. haha I love that place.

Did you happen to take any pics of the old buildings? It's neat how they re-routed the creeks into those troughs for the wheels.

No we didnt do much walking today. Driving all night and with no sleep had us pretty whooped. tomorrow we will be back in there at daylight hoping to catch some bears on the move. Once the light goes away we intend on hitting all the stops.

We just got back in...found a few bigger bucks and a few more bears

Saw alot of turkeys, but the fields are pretty tall so catching them in an open spot was tuff

As soon as the evening shadows started, the bears came out. I found a few spots that held berries and was rewarded. Not a great shot but a cool memory

The above shot and this one are not cropped. infact, the bear was to close for my lens to focus on it. I was able to make a quick exposure adjustment...still crap but another one for the memory bag

LOL we drove there from Gatlinburg one day, only to find the parking lot chained off and a big CLOSED sign. Apparently they are closed a couple months out of the year, and we just read their sign wrong.:ermm: I felt like Clarke Griswald at Wally World.

haha, reminds me of me,lol. when we went everyyear i would get rocks, the little mesh pocket on the back of the front seat in my dads dually sagged from where the rocks had been till the day he sold it

I got a few building shots today....a few will have to wait till I get home due to the way i shot them for editing purposes, but I think i nailed atleast one that will go on my wall. Once i get home i will post it

A few were within 4 or 5 feet. I wasnt able to get in my truck at one point, a big sow was 2 feet from the drivers door and her 3 cubs were all around me. Cody got some killer video...and my wife almost lost her mind...lol
