so i have a 13:1 piston and ported/polished head, and ive been told i need to use race gas....the airport by my house has like 110 or something like that (its either 108, 110, or 112)...anyways, what ratio should i mix it with 93 pump gas??

i race xc, and trail ride....if that matters

its probably 100LL, its not the greatest fuel to use, but i think its like 4 bucks a gallon, i would just run it straight.

k, so anything i need to be warned about when using that high of an octane? or can i just use my bike like i did with pump gas?

If you let it sit for a while, be sure to drain the bowl first. Some race gas can "gum" up quicker than pump gas. But, even with pump gas, you should drain the bowl if you aren't going to be riding for a couple months.

well thats easy enough

any thing special i need to know about letting it idle, or going low rpms, high rpms???

and if i had to run pump one day would 93 be ok??

thanks

Have you ran it since the new piston and all was put in? Myself and my bro run MX with 13.5:1 pistons and have no problems running them on pump gas. Been doing it for 3 years now. In these times, save all the money you can. If it runs well on pump, leave it on pump.

yup ive been runnin on 89 91 93 for a month now with that piston..only thing is it backfires a lil, but i think thats jettting related

I would leave it. Just get the jetting right and be done. But I would def. not run any lower than 93 pump gas.

I have a 13.5 and I run the AV100LL stright up. I was running a mix of of race and 93 but it seems to run better with the aviation fuel. And plus the AV gas is much more regulated than normal pump gas so you know your getting a more consistent and cleaner gas. Just my .02

Aviation fuel I was told it's close to 110 and it's cleaner like you said and It's Cheap... How many people out there are running it... My 450 I am running 93 and it runs good but my 250r I need 110. I was told to try the aviation fuel and I will on my next cans..

The guys at the airport say its 100 octane, maybe they are wrong though

i run av100LL in my 450r, it runs real good with it, and its more like 110 octane, its 100 octane at its lowers form, outside temp, humidity, and elevation will change the octane in a fuel but 100LL is 100 at the lowest point.

You might get a fouled plug every once in awhile, so says my dad(pilot, flight intructor, mechanic) but i have never fouled a plug running it, its a very stable cool burning fuel an it protects the valve's (lead)
