to go along with my backfire question earlier that some have read, i have a 134 main jet, and the jet under the float is a 32...and needle is on the 2nd notch from the bottom

are these the only jets i need to worry about when adjusting things??

right now my quad runs fine but backfires a little on decel and its 3 turns out on the fuel/air screw

i have a 13:1 piston, port and polish, hmf slip on, k&n with outerwear and am running a lid

i am going to switch and run no lid, as well as use a uni with an outerwear

any suggestions??

(also what is the jet called that i said was a 32)

thanks

also im roughly 800 ft above sea level

The 32 isn't one of the ones u will need to change.

Just the main and the pilot.
The pilot looks like a flat head screw right infront of the mainjet. You have to take the float bowel off the carb to see it / remove it.
The stock size pilot for you 04 is a 48.

You will have to increase both the main and pilot when you remove the air box lid.

ok i tried to get the pilot out and i had a screwdriver the perfect size and i was trying real hard to pop it out and it wouldnt budge, if i keep on i will prolly strip it..any tips

and how much should i go up to a 140 main and a 50 pilot?

If the pilot jet has never been removed since it came from the factory it can be stuck in there pretty good.
Just press as hard as u can and turn :P
If anything have someone tap on the end of the screw driver handle while u turn it, works like a ghetto impact driver.

Since your head is ported, recommending jetting is iffy. Depends what the porting is like.

But the baseline standard for a setup like yours would be a 180-185MJ and a 50 pilot.

Removing the air box lid has the biggest affect on air flow compared to ANY other single mod you can do to these bikes.

gotcha!!

so i should be able to feel the difference

and does this sound ok

main jet = 180-185

pilot = 50

needle = 2nd clip from bottom??

thanks

Sounds fine.
Once you see how it runs after that, you can adjust the A/F screw from there.
