maybe for rougher or rutted out tracks. Some people around here keep some 20's on hand in case that happens

the only time 20's are worth running in MX is mud races, even rough and rutted tracks its usually worth running 18's

The boy runs 20 10 9 kenda klaws. A great tire. the sidewall got cut. Its holding w/ 2 plugs in the side but its time to get new ones. Looking for something close to what he has. Mostly the track is hard packed but they've put alot of mulch into it & its watered often.

The only time I ran my GNCC's was at a mud race. It rained a crazy amount the night before and the track was an absolute MESS! I think I was the only one with 20" tires and I actually pulled the holeshot. Other than really muddy or rutted, I would stick with 18's though.

funny thing is he likes the 20's for the track. He jumps the triple in 2nd & I do it in 4th. We both ride the 450R. I'm 48 220 hes 14 100.

i saw a VERY light rider racing MX with razr II's all the way around on an LTR

i imagine they were 20's in the rear with 21's in the front

i run 20s i weigh 190.. it seems like how i have my gearing 18s are too small and 20s are perfect..

not to steal the thread or anything but is there a big difference between running 18's and 20s?

18 will give you a little better acceleration but less of a top speed witch is ideal for MX, many people run 20's on soft or muddy track becuase the tread is often deeper and it is often a little wider

20's also will give you a little better ride than 18 becuase of the increase sidewall area
