I have a 05 Predator 90 that is heavily modified now but i went through about every step possible before getting where i'm at now.....Depending on your budget the first thing I would suggest is pipe/carb & filter/clutch. those small changes will run you around $400 to $500 for new parts, but you could probably shop eBay for nice used and save. Flavor of pipe is like asking what's better between Ford and Chevy....Too many opinions to answer that. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I will start to shop around. We lost one of the head nuts and wasted the head gasket. Do you have a manual you can send or the head torque?

If you want to save money and just add some bottom end and mid range power while you have the head off, cycle the piston to TDC (top dead center) and use your feeler gauges and see how far below the piston sits from the top of the cylinder (mine was .080), take the cylinder to your local machine shop and have them deck the top of the cylinder to where your piston sits at .040 below deck height, this is not expensive and makes a big difference.
I'll look around, but I found a manual online for free....I'll try and find it and send it to you.

That is awsome, get some more compression to get some more hp. I like that idea.
Again thats

The Predator 90 is badly de-tuned....Decking the barrel runs about $35 in my area, and if you put an after market CDI to remove the rev limiter that will satisfy you for a while until the desire for more HP takes over again....

did you finally deck the cylinder...
i am very curius about the mods...i thinks my predator 90cc as abouth 3-4mm!!!!and only 100psi with a new 54mm bb kit

if i deck the cylinder...i suppose i shave the top of the cylinder or the base to achive the .40" or 1mm

I sold all of my bikes. The 90 was still all stock.

When you deck the cylinder remove the material from the top.

Just by a high compresion head? Approx 65.00 much easier. Then change your plug to the none p plug so it dosent protrude to the center of the piston and cause a hot spot on the piston.

Lots can be done to these bikes BUT the power will out do the suspension at a point to make the handling dangerous.

can you still use the electric starter with the hi comp head or decking??

You can, but it is hard on it. Most just remove the battery to make room for a pipe. Then remove the starter and plug the hole for further weight savings. You can also eliminate most all of the factory wiring harness whe you upgrade your CDI.

Where so you get information on the upgraded CDI? Are any jetting changes necessary? Is anything else affected when swapping out the CDI?

Walty,

Power Pro's and Hetrick both still offer a good tuned pipe to fit the reverse model '05-'06 Predator 90's. It has a different header pipe bend to clear the bigger transmission cover and shifter that are in the way of the non-reverse models.
