Why won't this work?

For lighting upgrades on any quad, instead of spending a fortune, why wouldn't a set of the $20 Optronics 55 watt driving lights sold at auto parts stores not work?

I tried that on my warrior and it started to melt my wires as soon as i plugged them in.

i am thinking i read somewhere on her that the stock charging system puts out 70 watts and those lights put out 55 watts each, therefore taxing out your chargeing system and draining your battery while you ride. i know there is a reason the sell "atv lights"..do a search on it, there a bunch of questions on here like that with better answers then i just gave you.

Short answer: The current draw is larger than what the electrical system is able to support.
