I removed the choke and put a vacuum cap over the hole. I also removed the air box lid and blocked off the snorkel. I have a slip-on and a K&N.

I removed the stock pilot and installed a 42, and for the main I put in a 152. I put it all back together to see how it ran but it wont start. It wont even attempt to start. It just keep turning over and over and if I hit the throttle I just just hear it sucking air through the filter.

Everything that I can see looks ok. Are you sure everything went back together right and nothing fell out of place, like the anti-slosh cup?

Really stupid question... Did you turn the gas back on and pump the crap out of it when you first tried to start it? After doing mine and it wouldn't start, I quicky realized I forgot to turn the gas on. In my hurry to get it going, I overlooked the obvious. :)

check if:

1. killswitch off?

2. gas on?

3. do u have gas?

4. jets tightened all the way?

5. jets clogged?

I fixed it guys. the plastic piece around the main jet fell outta place. I think its running rich. It'll stall if I hit the gas to much while its idleing. I have a 152 main in it should be close. Doubt I'd have to go smaller or bigger. I read about adjusting the needle but its different on my 05. Or should I mess with the main jet holder any?

I have a very similar set-up to you and have been dealing with the same issues. Don't shim the needle, it'll be too rich. Leave it stock. Turn the fuel screw all the way in, then back it out 1 1/2 turns. This is where mine is at right now and is running pretty good. If you still feel it's a bit rich down low, you may have to go to a 40 pilot... I'm still testing, myself.

If I turn the needle jet holder as tight as it will go, my quad wont start.

I think the float may be stuck in the open position

Sounds like you hung up the float now, especially if gas is pouring outta the overflow. You get a jet kit or did you buy everything indivually??? If you bought a kit, follow what they recommend for their pilot setting, usually it's spot on. Good luck, hope this helps

Im confused about the float. I dont understand about the black rubber thingy. Like where its suppose to go and stay.

I bought individual jets from jets r us. A 152 main and 42 pilot should be spot on. When it was running is was so close now everytime I put the carb back together the float sticks.

haven't taken one apart for a while but your not talking about the o-ring gasket in the bowl are you?

No, not the gasket. Its about 2 inches long and is like a round tube. One hole is bigger then the other on one end.

I get it back together and it fires right up then the float keeps sticking. Im not putting something back together right.. Isn't there a picture by picture on taking a carb apart?
