Is there a kit you can buy somewhere to convert my '07ER to a kicker with the wiring harness and everything? Maybe i've just overlooked it while I was searching the internet. Also wondering if they sell something that replaces the whole key assembly with a kill switch assembly? Thanks.

The most common thing to do to an ER is simply add the kicker, while keeping the battery and starter. It is a lot cheaper to add a kicker to an ER than to convert an ER to a true R. That being said, you need to leave the key on your bike, but you can still splice in a killswitch no problem.

I would do what he said. Although it really wouldn't be that hard to convert it to an ER to a true R, if your pockets are deep enough. They make a plastic cover for the hole where the starter would be. Then all you would only need is the wiring from an 06+ R, and of course the kicker mechanism parts.

After that's said and done, you would still have to do something with the subframe battery mount. Unless you're cool with having an empty bracket hanging off the side.

Just go the route that he said...much easier:p

And you've got to keep the key if you have a battery. If you had an R, all you would have to do is simply unplug the key.

Just finished adding a kicker to my ER. Easy to do and fired on the first kick. Found the kit on e-bay from acjracing for 435.00 Good luck.

you can use an er wiring harness to convert it to a true R. thats what we did, you can buy the kit off ebay and then you have to buy a plug to plug were the starter was and strip the harness
