That was the shop that sponsored him. Back then major sponsorship was pretty much non-existent. Also, the only quad still being made was the Banshee, so pretty much everyone rode the 250R.

Yes, LAE was for Laegers. When I started racing he was always on a Laegers chassis and Ohlins suspension. Not sure about his motors, but I THINK they were LRD.

rustyATV

It was definitely a Pro-trax narrow front. This was 1999, picture was taken at Paradise Park in Macon, Ga.

Can't help you on the Jeremiah Jones stuff, but aftermarket frames started about '91 for stock replacements, altered geometry coming a short time later.

I agree, maybe even going back a few more years to the late 80's.

rustyATV
06-23-2009, 09:40 PM
Late 80's? That's a bit much. All you'd need is a slightly ratted out, totally stock 250R. The only tough part would be finding retro attire.

It would be a cheap build then haha. I'd actually like to get some retro riding gear. Wasn't one of the main companies selling retro style gear a year or so ago?

Leagers most definatley made an aluminum frame. I have one. They only made a limited number of them. I got it straight from Leager. It was in their warehouse collecting dust. I will eventually build a sand monster out of it, but leagers stuff is hard to come by these days.

what kind of tank is on his trike?? That isn't a a ordinary short track tank and the shrouds don't look like short track shrouds either. He's cut further than what a normal short track tanks allows. this is nornal short track shrouds, some works stuff going on with that trike, funny the trx looks very stock???? I have some pics of factory race trx's from 86/87, funny, they all look very stock. Nothing like the trx's that were used later.
