Difference between 86 and 87-89 pipes?

I have a FMF pipe that I dont know what year its for. Is there a difference between the years?

its something to do with the frame. 86 frames have extra braces and some pipes won't fit, they hit the frame. I don't know if the 86 only pipes fits 87-89's.

I have never heard that one, but I did take a pipe from my 86, and put it on my 88,

too bad its not a h-49. haha. its for a 86, and worth about 60 bucks. imo
