i put a new jet in and started it up and noticed this hissing sound. thought i blew a gasket or something but it was the connection between the carb and the intake boot. would that sound about right to you guys? my theory is, if this is the problem, that the hissing is from the engine sucking in the air in between that connection. when you really get on it, it sucks the most air in and leans out the bike. i used my clamp from the other carb which wasn't big enough. so, i put a screw in it that was longer so i could fit it on. i should have just went to the store and bought a new hose clamp for like 50 cents or whatever. i'll go get one tomorrow and test it out and see if i'm right.
