ok i dont want to sound like an idiot but what is the difference in rev boxs. . what do they change if you buy an aftermarket one.. compared to stock.. thanks

They claim slightly advanced timing and most the rev limiter dont kick intill +1000 over the stock rev limit.

Do they do anything for reverse? i thought i read somewhere it allows to start in reverse and no rev limit.
also would it be bad to have cdi and 6 degree key? then timing would be advanced to much wouldn't it haha?

4 the newer ones the reverse rev limit is over rided. I couldnt tell you about the sparks key though i have never used one.

some cdis already advance the timing so a key would be pointless unless you get one that just raises the rev limiter

Buy the sparks CDI it goes hand in hand with the timing key. Some CDI units adjust the timing but not as much as the key will and some just notch up the Rev Limiter from 250-500 500-750 and 750-1000 give or take on some numbers.

Others will allow you to start in reverse but have no rev limiter at all :eek2: so be sure and read what you buy.

Your best bet would be to buy the sparks CDI unit or one that don't advance the timing along with the timing key. And on your CDI box now find the Black and Grey wire and cut in half and tape it up. Now you can start in reverse.

Or simply unhook the reverse switch next to your clutch but when engaging reverse the light on the dash dont light up, cutting the grey and black wire the light still works just lets you start the bike in reverse.

if you know what one it is could you tell me a lil about it
