Electrical question

This is a "what's this" question.....I've looked at every wiring diagram i could find on the R and none has showed this white cylindrical shaped CDI. Can anyone tell what years this CDI is from?

If I'm not mistaken, that is an LRD CDI, not an OEM CDI.

That would make sense since everything else on the bike is LRD......Thanks

Any idea if it's a decent CDI?

I had one on a bike I bought, but took it off and went back to the stock CDI. I believe it was supposed to change the curve a bit, but I can't say for sure. I'd say if the engine runs good, it's probably fine.

What made you decide to go back to a stock CDI?

More than anything, I didn't care for the fact that it didn't use stock connectors and the previous owner had done a poor job of splicing. I really didn't notice a performance difference between the LRD and stock.
