Im planning on 416 with 12.5:1 compression. Im thinking i need about 100 octane. i have 105(E85) and 94, should i do about 75% 105 and 25% 94? Anyone with experience please help

I'm sure others will chime in, but, I don't think you can treat E85 105 like normal 105 race fuel.

If I were you, I would try to find a local airport that sells Aviation fuel to the public. I found one by my house that sells 100LL Av gas for 4.00 per gallon.

I know we have a sunoco around here that sells 110 for like $7 a gallon.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I have a 426 with a 12.5-1 CP piston in it and it runs well on 100LL fuel.

I really don't have any air ports and drag strips, thats why i thought to use the E85.

There's another gent on here that runs E85 straight up and it works well for him. Not sure what his compression is, but, I think you'll be just fine.

You have to get a bigger main jet for your carb to run E85 though. I'll see if I can find him on here and you can PM him for more info.

Found him. His screen name is "Wheelie".

Here's the info in his sig. Note the E85 info at the bottom. He posted the 2nd post on this thread (link at the bottom). PM him for more info on his set up.

I mix 4 gallons of E85 with 1 gallon premium, it comes out to just over 102 octane. Whatever you do, don't mix E85 with race fuel. During my research on E85, I've found that it doesn't blend well with leaded gasoline.

450es--If you plan on running a 75-80% blend of E85, up your jetting by about 20%. If you plan on running E85 straight, start out at 25% more fuel.
