As some of you may know i have been lucky enough to be working 2 days a week with Arlan Lehman at his new shop Led Performance.
Arlan has been hard at work on a new bigbore pipe design and i took some pics of the prototypes.

The pipes are designed for 310CC + engines and are HUGE!! The silencers are HUGE as well and have a very deep gutteral growl.

These are all handcrafted and there are no stamps here.

From a sketch to cardboard templates to hand rolled cones these are true "work's" pipes.

I will keep everyone posted with their progress (dyno sheets, availability and finishes)

I like those cans - is there any reason they wouldn't work with a smaller bore pipe?

I've heard some people say that any coating on the pipe changes it's dynamic, but what options are there to clean it up - does he do any nickel plating or just chrome?

as long as the stinger sizes match. should be fine.

btw: any idea as to what one of those pipes would cost? i'd like to try one of em on a special lil dirt drag engine.

looks great!! good to seem him still making updated stuff for the R!! will he design any pipes for smaller bores? 265, 275, 290? etc... Thanx!

I don't have definitive answers, but they look to be in the development stage, I doubt he's selling them yet.

Plus, knowing somebody like Arlan, he's probably got complete aftermarket cylinder kits, and the pipes are designed to go with them. And since most aftermarket cylinders are larger bores, the pipes are going to be for larger bores, I doubt he'll be making pipes for smaller bores.

Like I said, I don't know for sure, but that's just my speculation...

I'd be really curious to know how much these would cost and what type of pipe they are because it doesn't have the same characteristics as other Hi-rev pipes.

When I inquired about a custom hand rolled pipe, he quoted me $900 to $1300.

This showed up today and all i can say is its stunning!!!

wilkin250r you pretty much on the money...there are new cylinders in the works (jhtrx250R) and i have heard talk of a massive bigbore cylinder as well.

As far as building pipes for small bores i really think he wants to focus on bigbore designs right now.

As far as being for MX or drag there are a TON of variables for each set up. I do know if you want a low end torque monster he will build it, if your racing flattrack and need rippin top end he will build it, he has always been know for making tractable power that you can use.
My pipe comes on real strong down low and has decent top end, its exacally what i was looking for and helped make 44 FT LB's of torque.
Cost is yet to be determined and Envy im pretty sure he miss quoted you (lets hope so)....i will sit down with him and get some numbers figured out...i would love to be the "pipe guy" and get you guys all dialed in.

looks GREAT but i wish he'd use springs to hold the pipe together instead of the bolts. i've had a couple LRD pipes and they broke those tabs off where the bolt goes. i've also seen numerous LRD pipes repaired at that same location.

I prefer the bolts due to the adjustability of the expansion chamber, not all port jobs are the same and tuning your pipe to your port job is worth it's weight in gold.....

Adjustability? I've never heard of anyone actually being able to get an LRD pipe adjusted. There just isn't enought there to do anything.

I've had two sets of LRD's on two different Banshee's, After rebuilding my first Banshee I had a more top end port job done and adjusted the pipes to get the most out of my engine...Very easy to feel the change in where the power came on by adjusting the length. I've riden with many different styles of pipes and LRD has given me the best feel out of all of them for my style of riding.....There's not one pipe out there that would make everyone happy.

This could turn into a Ford/Chevy conversation....I belive everyone has the right to like the pipe the like. Most of my ridering partners run CPI's, i wouldn't mount one on my lawn mower, but i would never try and make them see my point.

I'm all about agreeing to disagree......

What is the decibel level on the silencers ? And will it be offered with spark arrestors ?

Jason,

Pipes look great! I would be interested in a big bore for my CT330, centermount style. Let me know if it can be done.

Otherwise, that chromed LED pipe is badazz! I would be interested in some prices.

Give me a call.

Did these pipes ever go into production?

Custom to order only. Each pipe is a little different as well so you wont end up with the same as your buddy.
Expensive but they make great #'s and are really cool looking.
