its not the ground if the bike turns over by crossing out the solenoid. check the start button and the solenoid itself. maybe even a wire could have a break in it.

check the wiring under the front hood, examine the white plug, look at the pins and clean the connection, maybe one of the pins is pushed out and not making good contact, or u can also try tracing that down to the solinoid

Yea you can do it like a car and put a screwdriver or wire and hot wire your quad. Im having a similar prob with my switch and neutral light not getting power its prob a ground not tight somewhere ill sort it out later. But i can start it by using the screwdriver across the starter.

lol my EX did that once. Cranking and cranking but not starting. Check if you didnt turn of the kill switch, that red tab on the left handlebar.

i had this experiance the weekend i got my 400ex. i took it for a drive through the woods becasuse i wanted to get used to it, and all the sudden it started to spit and sputter so i managed to get it back to the garage and checked the plug and gas then my dad came out and said it was the fuse because the dash wasnt coming on. so check it!!!

Yea just fixed it. It was a combination of the fuse and me putting the key switch back together backwards but i finally got it back going right.
