is the 86-87 shock slightly slimer at the top mount at the frame then an 88-89?

i have a 86-87 shock might even be an ATC shock from a 250r and the frame i have is an 88-89 and is a bit sloopy i need about 3/8" spacers to make it work is this correct?

I have an 86' frame and I had an 86' shock on it. It fit fine and had no slop in it. I now have an 88-89 shock with and all 89' rear end and it also fit the top just fine.

I did not need any spacers for mine.

the atc shock is even wider on the top than the trx shock. Maybe somebody put a different model shock on, wrong spacers or a no-link shock.

That looks just like my old 86 shock at the top.

trx shock mounts are 45mm and atc shock mounts are 52mm. Revert back to my first reply, wrong shock and/or spacers.

it looks like a stock and no-link frame. If it was a cr500 link, the shock mount would be to the right(not centered like the shock and no-link).

Looks like a LSR frame..you can use a no-link or a stock linkage set up with it.

its a JP race frame, it can be stock or no-link you are right so if it fits stock does anyone sell spacers to use for the upper shock mount? i can fab them but it would be nice to just grab some off the shelf.

i dont think spacers will work, it looks like the shock is hiting the frame and wouldnt lighn up anyway? am i correct?

Hey William,
Here is a pic of mine. I know its really no help since I use a no link shock. You might have to call LSR and inquire about it or better yet just fab some spacers up.
