Trails only, no tracks do you guys think the 21's might be a better choice?

I'm going through the same debate. I'm seriously considering the Kenda Knarly XC radials, 21x11x9. The tire only weighs 15.85lbs, is 6 ply and will give a skosh more ground clearance. If I get a wild hair, I might order them this afternoon.

Get you some 20x10x9 ITP GNCC's, you will not be disappointed. 21's are way too big in my opinion, they look like balloons...

in either set I would get the 11-9 will give your rim a bit more protection with the tire being a bit wider. I think ya wouldnt see much of a difference in either size honestly would only give you 1/2" ground clearance over the 20's would be more but I think either or would suite ya just fine.

Funny you say that, the GNCC's are what I've been looking at.

it depends on the tire. The gncc run slightly small for a 20 where as the maxxis tires are the full 20. 11 or 10 width is again tire dependent....some tires come 11 wide some come 10.

if you get the gncc go 21" they are closer to your stock 20 than the 20" gncc

Thanks for the tips on how the sizes run.

I just got the 20's and they are about the same as my stock tiers maybe slightly bigger. The 21's would be way too big in my opinion but to each his own I guess.

yeah but stock ohtsu tires measure 18" there not a true 20" tire gotta take that into consideration.

IMO 19" tires would be the perfect tire for everything but mudding. 20" tires would be the biggest I would go for the rear.

yeah.....I put the gncc tires on my pred replacing the stock maxxis pr and the itps were a good 1/2 inch shorter (which would be a full inch) than the maxxis which were a true 20"

So, GNCC 20's are taller than stock 20's, but shorter than Maxxis 20's... Do I have this right?

I cant comment on the stock ohtsu height but for me yes. They are all different even though they are supposed to be the same. The gncc tires are lighter than others because they size a little small. Try the trac stars if youre looking for a good all around tire, the run very smooth and have held up well on my 400.
