I have searched and seen that you can use the z400 shocks on an R but there almost two inches longer. How does this work on +2 arms? Would the ride height be really high or depending on the shock can this be adjusted?

If they are two inches longer they will never work or at least not work right. Get the right shocks valved for +2 A-arms

There is MUCH more to a shock working on a quad than it simply bolting up.

The shock needs to be the right extended lenght as well as the right compressed length. Along with having the right mounting widths. Add to that the necessary valving/spring combinations for that quad as well as your own weight and riding style and its much more complicated then simply finding something that will bolt up. Using a shock not designed for your quad can cause serious injury to you and damage to your quad.
