New Berlin, NY - After another 3 week break, the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Racing Series resumes for Pro Round 7 at Unadilla Valley Sports.

Honda's Joe Byrd remains control of the points lead, but with a few weeks to recover, Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer will be gunning for his 3rd straight win at Unadilla, and Kawasaki's Josh Creamer & Chad Wienen have plenty of momentum heading to New York with each winning at the last two rounds, which makes for an exciting chase for the Pro ATV Championship.

On Saturday, the weather was beautiful till the start of both Pro practices with rain clouds moving in at the start of both sessions, which turned the track into a mud slick.

Suprisingly, Nick Denoble was out practicing because earlier in the week, he notified us that he would not be in attendance due to a wreck, but instead Clay Holmes didn't make it this weekend as he has been reported to have crashed and injured his shoulder, but nothing has been confirmed on his condition.

No, not as much as usual. Unadilla is out in the middle of nowhere and it's really hard to get cell reception or internet out there with out the right equipment, so we are a little limited this weekend.

Pro-am production goes by the exact same process as the pros my friend. They have timed qualifing and everything. y do you think they run on a timed schedule also. only difference is payout and they run like 10 or 15 min. plus 2 laps, and the pros run 20 plus 2.

not trying to start an arguement, but there is a "pro section" that i'm almost 100% on pro am not running there just like the bikes have there...and gibson is definitely fast for sure but even if he did outdo gusts qualifying time i'll bet his lap times were still a second or two off the competitive laps during the pro motos

Nope, if you watch the live timing the top 5 pro-am guys usually turn top 10 pro lap times consistently.

As I said Pro-am PRODUCTION runs the exactly layout as the pros. ONLY PROS and PRO_AM PRODUCTION RIDERS run the PRO section. so yes Cody Gibson would be running the same times as the top 5 pros. But he would have to run that consistent for about 6-5 more laps than he does in Pro-Am Production. ARE you on the same page now?

Pro-am has ran the same track as the pros(this includes the pro section) for the past 6-7 years that I have been going. They changed it this year by making Pro-AM Production exactly like the pros. They don't practice until Sat afternoon. And have time qualifing on sunday morning just like the pros. Set time for both motos 11:45 and 2:45. The Pro-am Production riders are only allowed to race in the Pro-AM classes.

Pro-AM UNLIMITED run the exact same as the ametuers( not the pro section),practice friday and race sat. and they shared the 2 motos on sat with the Pro womens. that should explain all there is to know. Pro-am Unlimited riders are also allowed to race in A class. You will understand if you go to a race:D

Pappy the last I heard was that Kawi wouldn't let him race pro at the first of this year,(guess they want someone to win Pro and Pro-AmProduction) but as soon as he wraps up the title in Pro-am Production he will move up. So I'm guessing the last 2-3 racing we might get a chance to see him in the pro class......

As long as the points are accounted for then he should be eligible to run pro class. Once he moves up he can not move back down. And as for Trompen, well the poor fellow must have been spending way more money than he earned..... Havent seen him around much.
