Just looking for a quick tip on splitting the cases. I have everything off but just can't get the cases to let go. They will let go and move, but will not seperate.

I do not have any pullers at the house and I do not want to pry on the cases to get them apart. Just wondering if any of you have any little tricks for getting them to split or do I just need to pull harder?

I took a piece of square tubing about 10 long, I cut a slot all the way through about 8" long, then I used long bolts that would thread into the cases, set the tubing on the crank, run your long bolts (2) through the tubing, and thread them into the cases, then alternate tightening each one up, untill the cases, start to pull apart, I made the slot long, so It would be a little more adjustable, you can get it to line up with more holes, and alternate around to different holes to pull it completely apart. I hope this makes sense?

F that.... put it in the oven on "warm" setting or whatever around 175-200 for about 30 minutes. the aluminum cases will expand and your case should come apart much easier....

dont go over 200 degrees on the oven

I pried very carefully at the upper rear engine mount where there is no chance of fouling up the gasket seal possibly causing an oil leak. I also tapped around the case with a rubber mallet, it'd work even better if you could pick the engine up slightly while tapping around it, using the engines weight to help pull it apart.

My wife does not cook to much so I might could get away with that one :D

But on the other hand, she rides too so she would have to understand right ? " I have to do this so we can hit the trails together. "

Finally started using these after I got a new crank and it fit tight. It was so ridiculously easy it made me wonder what I was doing all the years before this.

You've used both of those on a 250R Rusty? They fit alright?

I actually used a MotionPro case splitter, only because I didn't see the Tusk until later.

The crank installer I used to put both cases back together, but you'll have to dig through nuts and bolts to find the right pieces for the tool to grab onto. Otherwise, the cases went together without heating or chilling anything.

I also have the clutch tool, and that's a no-brainer as well.

Honda makes the tool too. The part numbers for it are in the service manual. I'm not sure how the price compares to Rocky Mountain though, I've had my Honda tool for about 12 years and I can't remember what I paid for it.
