I've always wondered which one would be better on my 416. I know it'll take more tuning to get the FCR to work right but will it perform better with the FCR? I'm wanting the most power i can get out of my quad and the carburetor is about the only thing holding it back.

i posted the same thread(no reply's) but from my research even if the 450r carb is cheaper ...i would get the fcr 39mm from curtis sparks .com >>>>just to much rigging and mods that u have to do to the 450r carb>>>>i'm leaving edelbrock 38mm flatside ...for the 39mm fcr flatside carb.....sparks it cost $520 kinda high but worth every penny i think ,,good luck on ur 416

the fcr is more finicky but its a far superior carb than the 04-05 450r carb. I never saw the need to spend 520 on a carb from places like sparks when you can wait and get a used yfz carb for 100 bucks off ebay. It will take a while but they do go for that price, or you could just go all out and bin for around 200

I've seen these YFZ carbs on ebay. Is it the same exact carb?

there are slight differences in the aftermarket fcr over the OEM one but its the same carb. Sparks even lists it as the same carb found on the yz400.
