hey i am planning on buying a trx520r engine and putting it into my 400ex frame. has anyone done this? with a regular 450r engine? id like some advise on what i should be getting besides the engine and what all needs to be done to make it fit.

yes its originally a trx450r.

many people have done it with a crf450 motor.

The mounts are pretty much exactly the same except the fronts are lower on the TRX motor.

There are lots of threads for this. You'll likely need the complete wire harness, Carb and throttle as well as exhaust for the TRX to complete it.

a couple guys on here have mounted a trx motor in a 400ex chassis.
