I was dead set on ordering a sparks 6+ deg key. However, after talking to my local shop, they urged me not to.

I have a hotcams stage 1 cam and EHS lid in route via USPS and UPS, and planned on ordering this key next.

I run nothing but sunoco 94, and I might run some e85 in the future, on occasion. However, my shop said that with the sparks key, I'd have to run race gas or e85 all the time.

I want the flexibility to run 94 oct. 90% of the time, so will I be good??

Just wondering what fuel you all are running and how long with the sparks key installed.

Thanks!

I've been running about 6 months with the key. I have never heard of having to run race gas with your setup.
I run a cam, open aluminum airbox, ported, Oring on the bottom out. I have had no problems when I run 93/93. I do mix in some Klotz nitro with Koolinal just for some extra kick.

I have never heard use racing gas either and i have had 87 in it once and it didn't explode. Usally I use 93 though, plus I just installl SPAL so it should keep it cooler.

Anyone else hear of the keys shearing off? I've heard that from other sources, yet never see it mentioned here.

I havn't heard of that. Pretty much everyone I've come across has had good expierience with them (sparks) I can't say anything for the keys off of E-Bay.

You wont have any problems with your setup and key.I think there were a couple people on here that had the key sheer off but it was due to not having the proper torque on the flywheel.I'll be putting the key in mine soon.I need to change that cover gasket anyway so while it's apart may as well put it in.

i have sheared 2 keys. i called sparks and the guy said they just wear out or get weak??? if it happens again i will just run the stock key. first one i sheared may have been my fault, but the second one i ran with it in for prolly 2 months. and installed 450 carb and sheared it.
