Just got home from the first round of the Clear ChanneL Pro Quad series in St Louis. About 50 quads total for the night. Dana Creech made his return to racing on his brand new quad, now #4 instead of the familiar #52. In the first qualifing heat Creech pulled hole shot and had a huge lead when he slide into the barrier and did a 180, dropping him back to 4th or 5th. Good ol' Dana though put on the charge of the night and still came out with the victory.
Corry Ellis also came away with a win on his new Suzuki Z400.
Darryl Rath was there on his Polaris Predator and just barely it into the main through an LCQ.
In the main Creech pulled the holeshot again and began to stretch out a lead, followed by Ellis. Keith Little then came up and challenged Ellis taking away the second spot.
Creech ended up taking the overall win followed by Little, and I believe Ellis got third although it might have been fourth. Rath was way back around 10th, looks like Polaris can go back to the drawing boards because I wasnt impressed. A good race all in all, Im glad to see Dana back out there and getting a win the first time out!

Actually it was Chris Fristoe in 3rd. Ellis held for 4th. Chris is an ex Pro that is pretty fast on the ground but just not up to par with the new boys of summer. Congrats big time to Creech. That was a **** of a race. Mo:p

Tim Farr is still getting over a broken collar bone from the Baja 1000. Definitely one of the coolest comebacks I had seen in a while. But I was wondering why the racers had not mentioned Matt Bartosek. I know I showed up with one of my National Shirts with a black armband in memory of Matt. Mo:confused:

Tim broke his collar bone in practice for the 1000. I dont have the specifics but from what I gathered from witnesses he was cruising at top gear and hit a sand ditch or hole. It tossed him on his shoulder breaking his collar bone. I believe they are just giving it a full recovery period instead of pushing on it and possibly injuring it for the outdoors. For those of you in Cali. I hope you are able to go and see the races coming to you. Its a shame that only one city east of Cali got a race. But if it had to happen i am glad St louis fit the bill. I know I wasnt gonna miss it for the world. Mo;)

Just a little more info about the race. Farr was told by Clear Channel not to come, because he has won it the last 3 years. He said that he was coming just to piss them off. He tried to ride after x-mas, but his shoulder hurt to much. Better to rest up for the outdoors. CC tried to reverse the start so that the faster riders would not get the hole shot. Dana was given the 1st spot on the outside, but he still got the holeshot. CC wants to make it like the trucks, a show not a real race.
The Preditar was put together the day before and someone left a washer lose in the intake side and he did not get to pratice with it. The head was a little messed up. They had to take the engine out of the frame to find the problem. No spare, so had to run with a bad head.
Walsh should have or would have done better, but he broke a chain quilifing and started 20th.
Quads good, trucks a joke.
