Side by Side/Razr guys

Hey guys, me and a buddy are thinking about getting into harescramble(2hr) racing in the sideXside division. What will it take to be competitive?


Its known to be muddy at times, with lots of bikes/quads getting stuck....so I'm guessing I'll want power and traction.


Give me thoughts/websites on whatever you think....

Currently I'm thinking:

Power(more torque)
Tires
Roll cage(if stock isn't sufficent, or could I have my welder buddy beef it up???)
4point harneesses
Suspension?
Bumpers

Please give me any advice you can.

--oh and reason for doing the side by side is I want to race, and have a predator but was in an accident not long ago, and afraid to get hurt so would like to be in something more enclosed and strapped in.

Hey brad, you thinking about racing the side by sides in the Iowa series? They are having them at all but one race this year. If you are the guys on the Iowa site that race the side by sides would be able to give ya some pointers also. Hopefully we'll see ya out out there!

Hey Kelly.....me and jared thought about finding one and doing a few mods to it and racing them. Think it would be a blast racing with a buddy in the same vehicle!
