does it matter what side you run the hoses to?

i had my 250r rad modified so the filler neck would be on the other side for a 400ex frame hybrid. (flipped the outlets to the other side of rad)

shouldn't, but has to be hot water in on top and cooler water out on bottom, thats just physics. hot water comes out of the head!!
