Well guys im looking at buying either an 09 450r or a 08 700xx this week and was wondering if u guys had any opinions on which one is a better wheeler?? And yes im still keepin my 440 but just want something new to ride and work on!! I was wondering if the 700 has the same torque as the 400 (i like doin wheelies) and what r the pros and cons 2 each bike? any imput would be helpfull!

i am not saying that by any means. i think it is just a funny spot to be asking. I would go with the 450 if you want a bit more of a race type machine and a 700 for a trail machine that will perform great in all spots and not wear you out. the 450 is made for racing and will be a bit of a hand full on the trails unless a bit of work goes into making it a bit more trail friendly. i feel the 400 is the best in between machine to get a bit of both. steve

You should be able to get a hellafied deal on a 700 right now. Of course they may not make them much longer because they aren't selling well.

Good idea as having any thought of difference on here just gets ya flamed.

For the trails i want to try the 700 with the all around indapendent suspension I think it would be smooth with a shock upgrade.

I have ridden both and would take the 450r over the 700 unless its riding on utility quad trails were the ground clearance is a must. If you dont mind giving up the powersliding and wheelying then get the 700. If you dont 450r. Not saying the 700 wont wheelie or powerslide its just not the best at it and i cant trust anything that sits that high 4 sliding around.

my 400 sucked *** at sliding it was the tires the stock tires sucked for powerslides after I put the new rears on after I put my key in yesterday at the shop I did a 30yard drift around my shop lmao. all what kinda tread you run on it.

I would love to try the 700 in a cross country scenario.

I would not like the body roll of the IRS so i would go for the 450 for sure. You can make your 450 MX or GNCC all the pros use them for both.

If he already has the 440 I don't see why he needs a 450r what is he gonna get different besides no reverse and liquid cooled.
One guy said u would give up wheelies and power slides but if u ant to do that get out the ex some to.
I bet if you had the money to put elka's (or any suspension only thing i have seen for it) all around 700xx it would be a blast anywhere.
