Can you tell me how I can see if my water pump is working effectively? My son has an Apex 08 90 cc and just recently his bottle is filling up with anti-freeze. He has no leaks, doesn't use the anti-freeze (I dont have to add anti-freeze) . After his races the bottle is full of anti-freeze. He is running a lot hotter than he did before we put a pipe on it.

We recently put a pipe on it, a new carb, and he has some motorwork done.

I am wondering if it could be his water pump.

Thank you

after it runs a bit, are both hoses and the radiator warm? If it is circulating, they all should be warm.

Rocky has a trick he does. He has posted it on here before. He uses a clear hose from Lowes or Home Depot. I never tried it but you could see the fuild running through it I suppose.

Hey Shawn, that's my secret! LOL!!!!!
Works like a charm. It's hard to see but if you look right where the pump cover nipple and the hose is you can usually see little air bubbles as the water goes by.
The hose is clear with nylon x pattern strings through it.

The only way to see if it is working is to take the pump cover off and see if it is spinning with the flywheel. If it is spinning it is working.
