OK IM NEW TO THE FOUR STROKE WORLD. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCES IN THE 450 AND 450R. lOOKING TO GET INVOLVED IN SOME GNCC STYLE RACING HERE IN INDIANA. wHICH ONE IS BEST FOR THE WOODS

I'd go with the standard YFZ.

just got a standard 09 YFZ in February for this exact reason. get the standard! you can get an 08 which is the same as the 09 for around 5500

The YFZ's are still the way to go as of right now. The new one still has some stuff they are working on, but I think once it's figured out it should be a better bike. We'll see...

Also look in Auto & RV there is a couple places selling 08's for cheap. Turn One in Plymouth has them for 4 something brand new.

Yep ... the standard YFZ is still the way to go ... they will start faster and the suspension is easier to make RIGHT ... The YFZR has a few minor issues with the suspensino that effect an XC width quad .... they can be fixed but it takes a little getting used to and the performance that you get from the YFZ compared to the YFZR, get a YFZ ... ;)
