my girlfriend has a 2008 LTZ400 and when we go riding her right wrist gets so sore from the bumps and shaking. where we ride theres normal whoops on the trail but also little ones like washboard on a gravel road that shake ur quad side to side. just wondering what would be the best option i was thinkin alum. bars or the 1 1/8 fat bars or rubber mounted bars but no one ruber mounts for the stock stem just wonderin if anyone has this same problem or any ideas what would help

You should look into Flexx Handlebars from Fasst Company

Just my 2 cents before I started spending money I would make sure the quad is set up for her weight with the suspension and try that.... But thats just my idea I hate spending money lol

Hope this link helps

ive got an 05 z400 quadsport and i just finished rebuilding the engine and there were two problems that i have encountered when i started it up a couple times. the first problem is i can hear clanging within the cylinder. would that be from the valves hittin the piston? if so, how do i fix that? and when my engine is warmed up. i give it gas and the throttle bogs down and it just dies. if you guys could answer to these problems i would greatly appreciate it.

your not hitting valves ,they bend rather easily then it wonrt run

check your timing chain it may not be tight

Yea its timing make sure its at TDC and that you pull the slack outa the chain towards the left so that it stays correct

i put a set of moose bars the fat ones on my dvx seemed to help alot also the suspension sounds like it needs to be tweeked set it up on my wifes and it made a world of difference in fatigue and ride speed

Most likely your valves need to be reshimmed.

how come the engine dies when its warmed up as compared to when its cold?

Well here's some red neck science when things are cold they expand when their warm they shrink so once its warmed up the valves shrink creating a gap which loses compression etc..

Before you spend money on bars, make sure when shes riding she does not have her wrist at a 90 degree angle. Alot of people do this without knowing when they are pushing the thumb throttle. If she is doing this have her bring her elbows up a little higher. If she can get used to the new position she should have no problems. If it is uncomfortable for her then maybe look into the height of the bars and make adjustments there. or bring her thumb throttle forward a little bit.

If this is not the case then just ignore everything i said.
