I do mostly trail riding and some little jumping. I currently have the stock tires on my 300ex. If I have a 14 tooth front sprocket, what size tires should I get?

i would get kenda klaw tires they are all around performance. and a 20" would do you just fine.

I have 20" itp holeshot GNCC they work awesome in the mud, sand, and dirt you also may want to try the maxxis razr/razr2 tires

ya i would get razr or razr 2 but with 20 on the front and 18 on the back yes thats a good racing setup but it is good all around with a 300 where they dot have incredible power the 18 on the rear is a great size for the 300

What would 20" tires do to my gearing ratio? Would it give me more top speed or more acceleration? Also, will 22" tires give me a lot more ground clearance in the woods?

if you have stock sprockets then going from a 22" to a 20" will give you more acceleration but less top speed what i did was put a 36 tooth sprocket on the back and a 14 tooth on the front. that gives you a lot more top speed. 22" tires will give you more ground clearance also.

Well my current gearing is 12/38 because with my quad all stock, I couldn't deal with the terrible acceleration. I want a good balance between acceleration and top speed, but I want it to lean a bit more towards the acceleration side.

How would 14/38 with 20" tires do? If not, do you have any better recommendations? I ride in mostly tighter areas but I want a higher top speed than my current gearing without losing too much acceleration.

When I put the 20 inch rears on I still had 14 x 38 gearing and it was a wheely machine in third gear. Good crisp acceleration. I went to 14 x 37 for 20 inch rears to balance acceleration with speed.

id put some 22" holshot xct's on there the're awsome in mud and especially on the trail good in sand and another+ is they bring your top speed up
